An excerpt from my new book, named but unreleased. In case you wonder what I do all day in the jungle. “As I take a seat I look at the current time. It’s 4:04. I’ve thought of her again. There is 33% battery. I am reminded of a time where my spiritual journey basically began. It all started with an apartment in Queens, NY. It’s all about following the Owl, and I’m not really sure how or why this game up. But she has owl energy, and I’m meant to follow it. I had rented this place after I had gotten out of my 14th ( maybe ) rehab. I had been off hard drugs for a little while, returning every now and again to some absolutely insane prescription or a binge on cocaine. I had found a place on Craigslist that called to me. It was an attic on Park Lane South. It was so beautiful, so earthy and woodsy and right next to a park. It had no view on the sides, and a “Retired” FBI agent peering in my window constantly at my “Illegal” marijuana plants. He seemed cool and frankly I don’t believe in adhering to unjust laws. My existence is an act of revolution, so I live like I would hope others to. The house had very a particular feeling to it and it feels like she feels. I remember walking into it and thinking, “This is for me.” The wood was stained dark brown, almost mahogany, with the reddish undertone underneath the earthy beauty of it. It looked ancient with a roughness that showed its age underneath the wood. It didn’t look old, but it was ancient. It held very old, very powerful, transformative energy. This is the apartment that 4 years ago gave me a safe space to figure out my next steps before I started my wanders abroad. This beautiful, thick, ancient wood, I will never forget it. It was the wood that is vaguely reminiscent of a better day of mankind, a day when traditions existed and values mattered. A day where people could imagine something and create it. A day where it was your actions that mattered, and not your image. This was a day where things were made with love, a day when people created clothes and picked fruits, sat together at a table and talked. It’s odd to find this beauty in the midst of modern society.” Soon to be released!
